BOOK OF ROMANS (PART 11) – SO MUCH MORE

  • Paul dedicated much time and explanation on justification.
  • Declare: “I am justified. I am made righteous. Pinawalang-sala ako.”

Question: Since we are justified, pwede na bang magkasala ng tuluy-tuloy?
Answer: Certainly not!

  • Nilinis na tayo ng dugo ni Kristo. Malinis na malinis ka na, babalik ka pa ba sa putikan?
  • The grace of God gives us the power to say no to sin.
  • We do not sin all the more. Instead, grace gives us the power to sin no more.

Illustration:
A father went camping with his son. They built a tent and a campfire, which took a lot of work. Then they cooked dinner, and the father got tired and needed to rest. He said to his son: “Anak, huwag kang lalayo at pupunta sa ilog, delikado dun. Matutulog lang ako.” However, the son disobeyed and went to the river, encountering a crocodile. The child screamed, and the father rushed to save him but lost his right arm in the process.
Application: If the child went back to the river after two days, it would show he learned nothing from the great sacrifice his father made.

  • Those who ask if they can continue sinning after being justified do not understand the cost God paid to save us.
  • Solution: Hear and hear the Word of God.
  • The blood of Jesus has forever cleansed us, and there is so much more!

Romans 5:12-17

  • In Adam, sin abounded. In Christ, grace abounded.
  • Through Adam’s offense, death reigned.
  • Through Christ’s sacrifice, we reign.
  • Death entered through Adam’s sin and spread to all men, for all have sinned.
  • We are not under the law but under grace. Sin is not imputed to us anymore.
  • Good news – If you are in Christ, even if you die, you will live again.
  • The free gift = justification = much more.
  • Not condemnation but justification.

Those who receive “much more” receive:

  1. Abundance of grace
  2. The gift of righteousness, justification

We reign through Jesus!

  1. Where did sin begin in man?
  • Through one man, Adam, sin entered the world.
  • Death entered through sin and spread to all men, because all sinned.
  1. Why do we sin?
  • We inherited the sinful nature of Adam.
  • In Adam, we had no choice but to inherit this sinful nature.
  1. How does our nature change?
  • From an evil/sinful nature to a new nature through His Son, Jesus Christ.
  • We can have a new nature through the Last Adam, Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:22, 45).
  • When you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you are no longer in the first Adam; you are in the Last Adam, Jesus Christ, the life-giving spirit.
  • Behold the new! We now have His life—everlasting life.

Just as we didn’t choose our parents, we couldn’t choose our sinful nature in Adam.
But now, we can choose between the father of lies or our Father in heaven.
Would you choose to remain in the first Adam and stay in death, or believe in the Last Adam, Jesus Christ, to be justified, made righteous, and have everlasting life?

  • Choose life! Choose Jesus – He is the way, the truth, and the life!
  • But there’s so much more!

We reign in life!

  1. How to reign in life?
  • We reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
  • He is the gift that keeps on giving!
    a. Abundance of grace (Romans 5:17)
    b. Gift of righteousness (Romans 5:17)
  • Tayo ang maghahari sa buhay!
  • This is God’s plan – for you to reign in life!
  • How? Look at Jesus.
    • When faced with sickness, did He cry? He spoke the Word.
    • When faced with temptation, He spoke the Word.
    • When faced with a storm, He spoke the Word.
    • What does a king do? He speaks and gives commands.

You are to reign over sickness, problems, and storms, just like Jesus did.

  • Speak like Jesus. Say, “It is written.”
  • Speak the Word of God!
  • Lahat ng ginawa ni Kristo ay tagumpay.
  • The cross was Christ’s victory.
  • Declare: “Ako ang nagwagi dahil nagwagi si Lord para sa akin!”

Whatever sickness or problem you face, you reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Look at Jesus and speak His Word.

  • May bala ka para sa mga balak ng kaaway!
  • Speak the blessing! It works!
  • Frame your life with the words of your mouth.

  1. Why will we reign?
  • We will reign as kings and priests.
    • 1 Peter 2:9 – We are a royal priesthood.
    • Revelation 1:4-6 – We are made kings and priests through Christ’s blood.

We are not ordinary, basta-basta.
We reign in life and will also reign after life, ruling as kings and priests!

  • Revelation 5:9 – A prophecy for after the rapture.
  • We will receive a glorious body like Jesus.
  • No more pain or sickness.

We will rule with Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords!
Maghari ka na ngayon hanggang habang-panahon! Amen!
