BOOK OF ROMANS (PART 10) – MUCH MORE

  • Romans 5:6-11 – Much more then, having now been justified by His blood:
    1. We shall be saved from wrath through Him.
      • Wrath of God – poot o galit.
      • We – What is the description of these “we”?:
        • Without strength
        • Ungodly
        • Implied: bad men
        • Still sinners
        • Destined for wrath
        • Enemies
      • But God justified us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Pinawalang-sala, we will be saved from wrath by our loving God.
      • Huwag hayaang ang inis ay maging poot. Friction happens, but we must learn to live together.
      • Don’t allow anger or wrath, or else the enemy is able to use you against the brethren. Huwag kang papadaya o papalapa.
      • Don’t give in to strife, even in churches, because there is no perfect church. People have issues just like you. We lose out when we walk in anger and wrath.
      • God is the God of love.
      • His wrath is against all ungodliness and unrighteousness.
      • It is not mean-spirited or condemning. It is holy.
      • Nararapat lang ang poot ng Diyos dahil Siya ay pag-ibig. His wrath is for our protection.
      • God’s wrath is a determined will, a chosen response of a Holy God for those who reject Him, dishonor Him, and rebel against Him in spite of the demonstration of His great love towards the world.
      • Pero ligtas tayo sa poot ng Diyos. Jesus made sure that we are saved from the wrath of God.
      • The wrath of God is against all rebellion, all unrighteousness, and all demonic powers. (Romans 1:18)
      • They refuse to believe in Jesus, so they are unrighteous and ungodly.
      • God is not wrath. God is love. God’s wrath is holy and righteous.
      • At the cross, we see God’s love and God’s wrath clash together.
      • God’s love is seen by Jesus hanging on the cross for our sins.
      • God’s wrath is seen when Jesus said, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
      • He forsook Jesus so He will never forsake you.
      • The wrath of God fell on the body of Jesus Christ.
      • Psalm 22 – ang nasa kalooban at kaisipan ni Jesus while on the cross.
      • Jesus willingly and lovingly took our sins, everything. For the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
      • What is terrible about hell? God is not there.
      • Great Tribulation – the wrath of God.
      • Revelation 6:16-17 – Once we are out of here (Rapture), then the wrath of God will fall on here.
      • Revelation 4:19-11 – fire and brimstone (ex. volcanic eruption).
      • So we must share the gospel. Let us have compassion for those who do not know Jesus.
      • We have escaped the wrath of God because of Jesus Christ.
      • Many pictures of wrath in the Bible, pero kapuri-puri pa rin ang gawa ng Diyos. Those saved from Mid-Tribulation and Post-Tribulation saw it and rejoiced in Revelation 15:3.
      • God’s wrath is not for His children.
      • It is reserved for the ungodly, unrighteous who did not believe in Jesus Christ.
      • 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 – We are appointed to salvation.
    2. We shall be saved by His life.
      • He is the living God who keeps us and preserves us.
      • Kung ang kamatayan ni Jesus ay ni-reconcile tayo sa Diyos, His life saved us.
      • He is the one keeping us, maintaining us.
      • Psalm 121:3 – He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
      • Jude 1:24-25 – “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.”
      • Who keeps you from stumbling? God!
      • Who presents you faultless? God!
      • Colossians 1:21-22 – We are holy, blameless, and above reproach in His sight because of the blood of Jesus that washed us clean.

Much more then, having now been justified by the blood of Jesus:

  • We shall be saved from wrath through Him.
  • The wrath of God is against all ungodliness and unrighteousness.
  • It is holy and righteous.
  • We have escaped the wrath of God because of Jesus Christ.
  • We shall be saved by His life.
  • He is the living God who keeps us and preserves us.
  • We are perfect in God’s sight because of the blood of Jesus.
  • We rejoice because we have now received reconciliation with God.
  • We are saved! Saved from wrath, saved by His life, and reconciled to God!
  • Forever saved!
  • You are perfect! Perfect in His sight because of the blood of Jesus.
    1. We rejoice because we have now received reconciliation with God.
      • Declare: “I rejoice in God!”
      • The relationship has been restored, and no one can break it apart for those who believe in Jesus.
      • Roma 5:6-11 (Tagalog) – Verse 9, “Tiyak na maliligtas tayo sa poot ng Diyos.”
      • Declare: “I am a friend of God!”
      • We are no longer enemies of God. Hindi tayo kaaway ng Diyos.
      • Declare: “I am saved! Saved from wrath. Saved by His life and reconciled to God! Forever saved!”
