POSITION OF VICTORY (BY ZACH BUNYE)
▪ The scripture says that we can be in a position of victory. This is part of living in the spirit knowing you are in a position of victory.
- Christ our Champion
- Champion:
a) Someone who defeated all his enemies.
b) Someone fighting for another’s behalf (representative/substitute). - Ex. David and Goliath – David was the champion of the battle. David was the representative of Israel and champion because he won. The battle of David and Goliath was a foreshadow of Jesus’ victory over sin and death. David was a picture of Jesus. Goliath was a picture of sin and death.
a) Victory over sin, death, and the devil – Colossians 2:14-15.- The devil, spiritual rulers, and authorities have been disarmed. The devil has no power over you!
b) Christ representing us for the battle – 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:5. - Christ fulfilled the two descriptions of being a champion.
- The devil, spiritual rulers, and authorities have been disarmed. The devil has no power over you!
- Champion:
- Christ’s victory is our victory
- 1 John 5:4-5 – For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
- Ephesians 1:13 – And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.
- Sobrang mahal tayo ng Diyos kasi alam Niya we are helpless, and we need a champion to win our battle. And because of His great love for us, we have been placed in a position of victory.
- Ephesians 2:4-6 – We are positioned in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
- Where are we positioned? Our position is in Christ Jesus.
- Paul used the terms “in Christ” and “in Him” about 143 times.
- You are not around or below Christ Jesus. You are in Christ Jesus.
- Colossians 2:9-14 – In Him, we are complete. Christ completes us.
- We are in a position of victory because we are in Him and He is in us.
- If I’m victorious, why do I still experience defeat? Jesus cares for what we want and need but He is more concerned about our souls.
- Christ’s victory is over sin and death. He won it for us so that we don’t need to stress about it anymore.
- He has dealt with it. You are secure in your salvation.
- Philippians 4:11-13 – Paul learned that he is in a position of victory regardless of his situation and the outcome.
- You can trust in Christ Jesus that you are in a position of victory.
- Walking in the Victory of Christ
- John 16:33 – In Christ, we have peace. In the world, we will have tribulations. But take heart, be confident Jesus has overcome the world!
- Romans 8:37 – We overcome the world, we are more than conquerors because we are in Christ Jesus who has overcome the world.
- 1 Corinthians 15:57 – Our victory is only achievable through our Lord Jesus Christ, there is no other way.
- How does a victorious person walk? He walks with confidence.
- We should walk in confidence because we are walking in the victory of Jesus Christ that He gave us.
- Regardless of the outcome or situation, always know that you are in a position of victory.
- You can walk in Christ’s victory! You are more than a conqueror!
- Jesus is the name above all names. (Philippians 2:8-11)
Part of living in the Spirit is knowing we are in a position of victory.
Christ is our Champion – He has won over sin, death, and the devil, and He represented us for the battle.
Christ’s victory is our victory!
We are in a position of victory because we are in Christ and Christ is in us.
Therefore, we are walking in Christ’s victory confidently.
We speak Jesus into our situations and regardless of the outcome, we always know that we are in a position of victory.
Let us share this knowledge of victory!
Let us boast about Christ’s victory to the world!
▪ If you have a situation right now, it has to bow down in the name of Jesus.
▪ Speak Jesus into your situation right now!
▪ Whatever the situation is, Jesus is the answer. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
▪ Share this knowledge of victory.
▪ Don’t let the enemy rob our brethren of their position of victory in Christ Jesus!
▪ Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word.
▪ Boast about Christ’s victory to the world. Ipagmalaki natin ang natapos na gawa ni Kristo.
▪ Romans 10:14-15 – We have the responsibility to share the knowledge of victory that we have received.
▪ Share the gospel of Jesus Christ in your own way. Preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world!
