BOOK OF ROMANS (PART 4) – JUSTIFIED BY FAITH
- All have sinned, and it is God who justified us when we believed in Jesus.
- The audience of Romans – some were believers, some were not. Some were Jews, some were Gentiles. So it is a general counsel for those who will hear.
- Romans 1:18-32
- Ang poot ng Diyos ay galing sa kalangitan against all ungodliness and unrighteousness.
- Verse 20 – God’s invisible attributes are understood by things that are made (creation). So people are without excuse.
- Psalm 46:10 – If you will just be still, you will know that God is. He is I am. He speaks. Be still right now…know that He is God.
- People knew God but did not glorify Him or thank Him.
- Their thoughts became futile (inutil) – naging useless ang kanilang kaisipan. Their foolish hearts naging darkened pa.
- Nature speaks of the Godhead. Obra maestra ka ng Diyos! And think of all the gifts He has given us. You cannot deny that there is God!
- 1st sin – Atheism; 2nd sin – Idolatry.
- Verse 24 – Hindi namimilit ang Diyos na sambahin Siya. God respects the will of man.
- They exchanged the truth for the lie. Creator – God is blessed forever.
- Verse 27 – 3rd sin – Homosexuality. Penalty of their error – Ex. Hindi sila tanggap ng tao.
- Verse 28 – Debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.
- Verse 32 – Those practicing such things deserve death.
- If you stop here, you just see one side of the story, and you can end up being judgmental to yourself or to others.
- Go to Romans 2:1-29
- Verse 1 – You who judge, practice the same things.
- Maski may sala sila, mabuti pa rin ang Diyos sa kanila para mag-repent sila.
- Romans 3:23 – Lahat ay nagkasala, kaya huwag kang manghusga.
- Only Jesus did not sin.
- Even your goodness will not pass as just or righteous.
- We were all born in sin and only the righteousness of Christ will pass. Maduming basahan (filthy rags) lang yang kabaitan mo.
- We are not to judge, but we must have compassion. Our role is to love and not to judge. Love people to God. Offer hope and not hate.
- Love people hanggang mailapit mo sila sa Diyos. Huwag mo silang husgahan, si Kristo na ang bahala sa kanila. Let’s offer hope and not hate.
- Magtiwala ka sa Panginoong Hesus. Siya lang ang makakapagpabago sa ‘yo.
- Salvation is not by us judging people but leading people to God. It is by faith in Christ alone.
- Not for us – Romans 2:5-11
- For us, verse 7 – Eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality.
- Verse 11 – There is no partiality with God. He is a just God.
- Romans 3:10-18 – No one is righteous.
- All people are doomed to destruction, to perish. We are doomed! Walang nakalusot. Bawat isa ay makasalanan. God is a righteous judge. Hindi pwedeng palusutin ang kasalanan.
- But praise be to God! Tayong lahat, maski no one is righteous, maski lahat tayo ay nagkakasala, may pag-asa.
- Pinadala Niya ang Kanyang bugtong na Anak na si Hesus para sa ating mga kasalanan. Siya mismo ay naging kasalanan. Sa katawan Niya mismo binayaran ang lahat ng kasalanan.
- We, who believe in Jesus, are now justified by God. We are justified by God through faith in Christ Jesus.
- Pinawalang-sala ka na ano man ang kasalanan mo. Justified – Just as if you never sinned in your whole life.
- Justification = Righteousness. Same Greek word “dikaiosyne.”
- Romans 3:21-22 – All you need to do is to believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Lahat ay binayaran na ni Kristo Hesus.
- Romans 3:24 – Justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
- Romans 3:25-26 – Propitiation – the sacrifice that satisfies. He is just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
- There is now no condemnation for those who believe in Jesus.
All have sinned. There is none righteous, no, not one. But praise be to God! He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay for all our sins. We, who believe in Jesus, are now justified by God!
- Justified – just as if you never sinned.
- We were justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
- We are justified! Jesus is our righteousness.
- We are as perfect and as righteous as He is.
- We are justified by God because we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Declare:
“I am justified. Jesus is my righteousness.”
- We were perfectly cleansed and made perfectly righteous.
- You are as perfect as Jesus Christ. You are as righteous as Jesus Christ.
- You have been justified, made clean by the blood.
- Justified by God because you believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.
