THE DAY OF THE LORD (PART 2)

  • The Day of the Lord:
    • First part: The Rapture, we will meet the Lord in the air.
    • Second part: We will come back with the Lord on earth, and we will be with Him in glory.
  • Hindi ka maiiwan! Kasama tayo because we have been redeemed by the blood. The blood of Jesus has cleansed us, made us holy, pure, and blameless.
  • Ephesians 1:4 – Kaya tayo pinili, o hinirang ng Diyos, para tayo ay maging banal at walang kapintasan.
  • Colossians 1:21-22 – to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.
  • Above reproach – Hindi ka mapipintasan.
  • Declare: “I am already holy and blameless.”
  • Holiness is not something you pursue. Ito ay base sa tinapos na gawa ni Kristo sa Krus ng Kalbaryo kaya lagi kang holy, blameless, and above reproach. But you work it out, live it out kaya nakikita ng iba. Hindi nabubura ang pagka-holy mo.
  • 2 Peter 3:14-18
    1. Be diligent to be found by Him in peace without spot and blameless.
      • Be diligent means be earnest/be serious/be intense in conviction that you are in peace and you are without spot and blameless.
      • Be confident about your identity in Christ, how holy and blameless you are.
      • Praise God wala Siyang inuungkat sa atin, no interview. The moment we believe in Christ, we have been proclaimed holy, blameless, justified! Wala ng paghahalukay.
      • We are the righteousness of God. Every time anyone sees you, ikaw ay patunay na ang Diyos ay righteous. Kasi, tayong hindi karapat-dapat pinawalang-sala ng Diyos! Kaya we are the righteousness of God.
    2. Peter acknowledges Paul
      • Peter said Paul also wrote about the Lord’s longsuffering.
      • There is only one gospel that Peter and Paul preached. They are in agreement. (2 Peter 3:15-16)
      • Peter acknowledged beloved brother Paul, the wisdom God has given Paul. They have the same writing in Paul’s epistles.
      • We receive Peter’s gospel, we receive Paul’s gospel because they only speak one and the same gospel, the gospel of grace, the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
      • Untaught – hindi maturuan. Unstable – they never receive the teaching. Because if they did, they will surely be stable. The Word of God makes a person stable in his ways.
      • Since they are untaught and unstable, they pervert the Word as they do with all Scripture. Lahat twisted na sabi to their own destruction. That is the danger.
    3. But you! Iba ka!
      • You, therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
  • Be the opposite:
    • Be taught.
    • Be stable.
  • How? Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Intindihin mo ang biyaya Niya as per Scripture not your own thinking. Get knowledge of the Father and of the Son Jesus Christ as led by the Holy Spirit.
  • False teachers/teachings – they are wicked, and it is to their destruction. May scammers din sa spiritual realm. Mag-attend ng church para hindi ka ma-scam.
  • Our text ends in 2 Peter 3:18 – “To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” This concludes our study on the book of Peter.
  • Declare this:
    • I am taught of the Word.
    • I am stable in the Word.
    • I am holy and blameless.
    • I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
